In the News!

June 13, 2016 by Camp Liberty

Rick Briggs has a 4th of July Veteran Talk Radio interview about Camp Liberty, the Eisenhower Center and how other sponsors and donors were involved.

The opening interview is 17 1/2 minutes long and discusses Camp Liberty programs and why it created.  Then we cover how the Eisenhower Center, the DG Foundation and others helped with the building of our facilities and how Kroger sponsored ourr BBQs all year.  Then we disucssed how the Operating Engineers and Michigan Cat helped with the pond,  how ITC sponsored our Action Track Chairs, the up-coming “Open House” on July 29th and a new state wide project Rick is working on and hopes to announce in the near future.
Near the end of the broadcast is an old John Wayne recording of what America means to him, good to listen to also. Thanks to all that are trying to make a difference in our Veterans and service member family’s quality of life. They are paid so little for what they are asked to do… enjoy, and “thanks” again.

Firekeeper 400 Nearly 200 vets and their families enjoyed a great day of racing at the FireKeepers Casino 400 race at MIS Speedway in Jackson, MI.  Good weather and a fun to watch race where the highlights of the day.  This family sent Camp Liberty this picture and offered a big “Thank You” for the tickets that Camp Liberty got for them.  A big thanks for serving the country!!

Camp Liberty received the following thank you letter from another Veteran who took her grandfather to the FireKeepers Casino 400 race.  We are very pleased she and her grandfather enjoyed the day.

“Hello,

I wanted to thank whomever donated the tickets for the race! I took my grandpa and we had a blast! He’s still telling everyone about it! We even got to see a friend of ours that works for NASCAR. We got to tour the garage, meet the crew chief of car he works on and the owner of the car! We got pictures with multi cars!

I will definitely remember it for the rest of my life!

Thank you very much

Jessica”
